Organizations Active in
Disaster relief, Nassau County
Community Emergency Response
Team along with the American Red Cross
to assist our clients in
educating themselves,
families and community on
how to respond when disaster
occurs. We work with our
client organizations human
resources departments to
join in efforts to educate
staff on prioritizing needs
and identifying the various
roles all staff may have
during a natural or man-made
disaster.
Each day our staff greet
our clients with a
client-focused solution
approach on the positive
aspects or solutions, rather
than focusing on “the
problem.” This style of
counseling assists our
clients to realize they
possess the necessary
resources to find solutions
to life challenges. Our
approach has been key to our
EAP along with Work-life
programs success in
assisting clients with
everyday needs to crisis
level concerns. The goal of
our counseling staff is to
provide clients with a
response that assesses
strengths, manages risk and
provide short-term
counseling. When
callers reach our 24/7
hotline we ensure that calls
are handled appropriately.
It is understood that our
interventions are not to
become the caller’s
therapist or interfere in
the “therapeutic process.”
The services connect people
to short-term solutions and
services. When further
interventions are needed,
New Bridge connects and
monitors our clients
progress to ensure quality
services.
